Portharcourt filmmakers and lovers of good entertainment gathered on 30th of January 2020 to decide the future of Portharcourt film industry. The conference was the first in the history of Portharcourt Nollywood, where filmmakers all over Nigeria who started their filming career in Portharcourt was present and also the veterans.
The conference started by welcoming big players in the film industry, who are still residing in Portharcourt and those who are not, in the list of those welcomed are Director Medford, Costumier Millicent Jack, Director Fortune Kezim, Director Bobby Rak, Director Thomson Obi, Director Eric Stevenson, DIrector Samchuks Emeka, Association Of Movie Practitioners (AMP) Chairman Mr Bishop Document, Veteran Sokari, Big Daddy, Director Possible, Chief Lawrence Uche Lawrence, Joseph Francis, GT, Actor Justice Slick (JT), Awesome Speakers, the Guild and Associations Heads, Production Houses and NOLLYWOOD RIVERS STATE IN GENERAL. After then the conference was declared open, speakers came through, questions and answer section followed. But one question that calm the house came from Nollywood Director Samchuks Emeka. 'NOLLYWOOD HANGOUT' Portharcourt.

Practicing Director Samchuks Emeka who is a film scholar and currently serving Director Ebuka Onuma started his question last week, by first saluting Director Medford, Costumier Millicent Jack, Director Fortune Kezim, Director Bobby Rak, Director Thomson Obi, Director Eric Stevenson, Joseph Francis, GT, Actor Justice (JT), Awesome Speakers, the Guild and Associations, Guild Heads, Production Houses and NOLLYWOOD RIVERS STATE IN GENERAL.
Then he said while pointing it to Director Fortune Kezim, you will still remember that at Film school or Film college, the school system alongside some firms comes together to plan projects that it aims are to empower the most creative, talent and knowledgeable students with cash, to assist the students to pay up for school fees or get equipment to enable them get better in their craft.
And director Fortune Kezim said 'Yes' then Director Samchuks Emeka ask the guild heads and production houses what are their plans for this year 2020 to make sure they give back to young filmmakers and actors who are looking up to them and him Director Samchuks Emeka also turned around to ask the young filmmakers and actors, in what way have you been thinking of helping your guild heads, production house directors and those names you respect a lot this year?
Director Fortune Kezim decided to answer his question, the house was amazed at his answers and that gave way for a better and understanding flow answer. The conference came to an end and every one was excited.
